Enriching and empowering the community through litter prevention, waste management, beautification and recycling by means of education and enforcement.
Nelida (Neli, her America adopted name), was born and raised in central south Brazil where she graduated in Forestry Engineering. Environmentalist by heart, gardener and steward of the Earth by her father's legacy, moved to the Dallas area after graduating. Between her time working in green real estate, she worked in environmental education for different botanic gardens, wildlife and native Texas plants projects and recycling with non profit organizations, the latest one, a Keep Texas Beautiful affiliate.
In the summer of 2014, after driving back from Rockport to Rockwall, where they had lived for the past 10 years, Neli and her husband David decided to move to Rockport permanently and 3 months later, they did! Right away, she jumped into two projects presented to her in our community, first, she worked and lead the Bay Education Center estuary exhibits that teaches the ecological and economic importance of the Mission Aransas Estuary and the Science on A Sphere (R) both worldwide projects by NOAA(National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and managed by UTMSI(University of Texas Marine Science Institute) to visitors and residents; second, started a non profit (Keep Aransas County Beautiful) to help and educate residents and visitors about the importance of this area through conservation, beautification, as well as the implementation of the tools of the 4R's in the community ( Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rethink your waste).
She enjoys her quiet sunrises or sunsets, amateur photography, organic gardening and busy days, either helping people to find their next home in our area or volunteering time to keep our community clean and beautiful, yes, she loves where she lives!
